 - Cup of Ice
- Piece of Cotton String
- Table Salt
- Fill a cup with ice
- Bury string in ice/cup, leaving small piece sticking out at the top
- Sprinkle salt over ice cubes & string
- Count to 20
- Lift your string
Salt lowers the freezing point of water; therefore, the ice began to melt. As the ice melted it became colder and the string froze to the ice.
